Gryffindor Beanie

This beanie is in the colours of the House of Gryffindor from the Harry Potter stories

It also has a Gryffindor badge on the front

As far as remember nobody in the films wore a Gryffindor beanie, but there are plenty fans who will know for sure.

A comfortable machine knitted beanie, suitable for spell caster of most ages

Hat are very useful for those cursed with the Calvorio spell

Fake Fur Beanie

This is a faux fur-trimmed knitted beanie.

With a very wide band of fur the hat is also lined with fleece, this makes it an excellent hat for cold winter weather or since it's snowing again, today's lovely spring weather.

It includes fake fur pompom dangly things which hang from strips of leather, these are purely decorative and serve no purpose other than to entertain cats.

The hat was purchased from my favourite trader Chows Emporium, I recommend all her products, never been let down by quality or service.

I think the pompoms match my beard.

Reversible hat

The fabric hat is reversible so you can a brown or red hat

I would hazard a guess that the hat is a medieval style, the kind that would normally be made from wool.

The hat is basically a square bag, that follows the shape of the head when worn and leaving 4 corners at the crown where there is an air pocket above your head.

Many shapes of historical hats do not have names, you could call it a beanie of shorts

I would say this hat suitable for any period from at least the 13th to 18th century.

Cat in a Hat

A Secret Santa gift turned out to be a Christmas cat hat and collar

As you can see by my cat expression he was not pleased to made to look foolish, cats are too cool for that.

The hat sort of managed to stay on for a few minutes, long enough for a few photos

Another attempt at a cat in hat photo.

I did have to try it myself.

Christmas Novelty Hat

This is a hat for Christmas only.

A basic beanie with a pompom on top

Patterned like a Santa costume.

Then for added jollity, a white fleece beard mask hung from the front.

I was given this as Christmas gift and will wear it, also will make my Facebook avatar for this December.

The beard is detachable held in place with a couple of press-studs and in my opinion looks better without it, although that is probably not the point of this hat.

Red & brown nightcaps

I've already posted photos of one of this set of 8 nightcaps, the 2 in the photos below are the other jersey fabric's used in the set

Part of Ebenezer Scrooges wardrobe.

Used to keep you head warm in the British Isle and other colder regions of Europe before central heating.

The long train of fabric forming the crown was used to wrap around the neck and act as a scarf.

Another Fur Rimmed Hat

Following on from my last post here is another fur rimmed hat.

Not quite as furry as the last one, this one as a strip of artificial fur sewn onto a basic woollen beanie style cap

Goggle Beanie

A beanie with built-in goggles who's crazy idea was that?

This is a traditional cotton ribbed beanie with goggles sandwiched into the brim possibly used by skiers.

I think the idea is more of a fashion thing than of practical use.

Although it does work has a pair of goggles, the beanie brim when folded down holds the goggles in the right place and steady enough to protect the eyes from the bright sunlight.

That said you end up looking like some cheap superhero called Insect Man.

Sock Hats

All pirates without a tricorn or bandana have one good choice left the sock hat.

These sock hats are made from stretchy tubes of jersey material, one end of the tube is knotted which add a nice weighty end to the tip of the hat.

Part of a bag of 10 sock hats that form part of clubs stock pirate kit, with the odd minor repair they have been around for 20 years.

Easy to make and easy to wear, one size fits all.
